Hello. Im back this time to share some short stories and experiences in the hope of inspiring you to join me in discussion. Children with complex needs and sight or hearing loss can tend to be quite poorly. Appear somewhat tired and lacking in energy or at least this was my experience in session with a small group. Their teaching support staff were present and were hesitant as to how much play and fun would be appropriate for these little ones. Wanting them to lead me into their world i found a powerful explosion of energy as they move and play to rhythmic music. Their tiredness and lethargy can be transformed into a more vital humour which happens each time. The staff are beginning to see how moving and playing enable greater chances for development and social interaction than perhaps sitting together and relaxing. These children in this group want to rock n roll not relax....bedtime is relaxing.!!
